Act 13 (a) is finalized

The Act 13(a) of the National Drug Act 1982 is finalized on June 3.

The draft of the act is as follows:

At least two qualified persons must be appointed in a Pharmaceutical Industry. One of them must be a graduate pharmacist from a recognized University of Bangladesh. The other one can be a graduate or master in Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Applied Chemistry or graduate in Pharmacy or Medicine.

 

 
BPS launches official website

Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Society has launched the official website in order to promote the communication among its members. The registered URL for the website is www.bps.org.bd. On April 16, 2004 this website is officially inaugurated in an inaugurating party at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel headed by the Honorable Science and Information and communication minister of Bangladesh, Dr. Abdul Moin Khan M. P.

All the activities of BPS will regularly be updated in this website. Besides, the web version of the publications will regularly be issued online. Members of BPS in and outside of Bangladesh can get these issues. By this website each of BPS members will be able to log on using their own member ID and Password to the members zone. Currently this division is under construction.

In this website the visitors can communicate directly with the BPS in various affairs. Using the e-mail address bps@agni.org the visitors can contact BPS.

BPS News letter Pharmachronicle is going to be published

Pharmachronicle, the official newsletter of Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Society is going to be published regularly, after the interval. Mr. Khondokar Mirazur Rahman is the executive editor of this newsletter. The assistant editors will be recruited soon and then the newsletter is expected to come into fact by June.

Any of the interested pharmacists, pharmacy professionals or researchers can send their report relevant to pharmaceutical science and commerce by e-mail to the address pharmachronicle@bdcom.com. The web version of the newsletter will be published online.

 
BPS is preparing pharmacists database
BPS has started creating database of the pharmacists from Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh. The previous database was not updated with time due to a number of reasons. The latest database will be handled electronically and published online.
 
Prof. Dr. Habibur Rahman is new Director of Drug
Dr. Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Professor of the Dept. of Pharmaceutics & Pharmaceutical Technology of Dhaka University has been appointed as the Director of Drug Administration. From the faculty of Pharmacy he received a cordial reception and later at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel he was given a reception from BPS on April 16, 2004. In his introductory message he assured his best cooperation for the pharmacists of the country.
 
DU Pharmacy students made study tour to India and Nepal
The students made studey tour to India and Nepal. The tour was started on May 04, 2004. After the trip they have safely returned home on May 18. They have joined their regular curricular activities.
